Q3D Extractor supports both 3D and 2D quasi-static electromagnetic field simulations to extract R, L, C, G (resistance, inductance, capacitance, conductance) parameters from interconnect structures, packages, bus-bars, cables etc.
It includes a 3D quasi-static solver (method of moments (MoM) accelerated by fast multipole method (FMM)) for full 3-D extraction of partial inductances, skin-effect and proximity effects.
It also includes a 2D extractor (finite element method, FEM) for transmission-line / cable cross-section extraction: per‐unit-length RLCG, characteristic impedance Z₀ matrices, propagation delay, attenuation, near/far-end crosstalk etc.
Automatic adaptive meshing: the software automatically handles geometry, material properties and desired outputs; the meshing is refined adaptively to reach accuracy with minimum manual mesh tuning.
Equivalent circuit model creation: It can export SPICE subcircuits/ladder type lumped models, IBIS models, touchstone formats, etc, for interconnect / package / cable parasitic models.
High performance / HPC support: Multithreading, parallel frequency sweeps, spectral decomposition method (SDM) for frequency-sweep acceleration, and cloud/HPC integration
